Ross High School earns Silver PBIS AwardWe are proud to announce that three of our schools—Elda Elementary, Morgan Elementary, and Ross High School—have been recognized by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce for their excellence in implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Elda and Morgan Elementary each received the Bronze Award, while Ross High School earned the Silver Award for 2025.

This recognition is a celebration of our staff, students, and families who work together every day to create safe, respectful, and supportive learning environments across our district.

What Is PBIS?

PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. It is a proactive, school-wide approach designed to improve student behavior, enhance school safety, and support academic success. Through clearly defined expectations, positive reinforcement, and consistent strategies, PBIS helps students build essential life skills—like responsibility, respect, and decision-making—that serve them well in school and beyond.

At Ross Local Schools, PBIS is more than just a program—it’s a mindset. It’s a shared commitment across our entire district to help every child grow academically and personally in a welcoming and respectful environment.

A United Effort Across Our Schools

The successful implementation of PBIS in our buildings is the result of collaboration between administrators, school counselors, school psychologists, and teachers. At each building, PBIS teams meet regularly to review data, plan celebrations, and ensure students have the support they need to succeed.

At the heart of this work is our unwavering belief that every student deserves a learning environment where they feel safe, respected, and encouraged. From classroom teachers reinforcing expectations with kindness, to school psychologists developing tiered interventions, to administrators modeling respectful behavior—PBIS is a truly united effort.

Success Starts at Home

While this recognition highlights the work being done within our schools, we know that student success begins at home. Families play a critical role in supporting the values and expectations we teach in school, and we are incredibly grateful for the partnership we share with our Ross families.

Your ongoing encouragement, communication, and collaboration with our schools helps reinforce the positive behaviors and character traits we celebrate in the classroom. Simply put, our PBIS efforts wouldn’t be as impactful without you.
As we celebrate these awards and continue to strengthen PBIS across all our buildings, we remain committed to ensuring that Ross Local Schools are not only academically strong—but places where students thrive in every way.

Congratulations to the staff, students, and families at Elda, Morgan, and Ross High School! We are #RossRamsProud.
